Over the last few years we have built an amazing partnership with the Horse Rangers in Hampton Court. We are so lucky to be regularly invited along to spend a whole day with the beautiful horses and the friendly staff at the stables. This year, the Horse Rangers Association was chosen as one of the Mayor's Charities and a special mention was made about the work they do with us here at the YCP!
Yesterday, Claire took six young carers along on a day out in Hampton Court and they had a really brill time.
First things first… the young carers had to get all their gear on (protective hats most importantly!) and then it was time to match the horse to the rider!
After some tentative first steps, everyone soon settled into their saddles and the group had a beautiful walk (and a bit of a trot) through Bushey Park in the sunshine. Before long, it was time for a tasty pizza lunch (thanks HRA!) before we spent the afternoon brushing and plaiting the horses’ manes.

A quick message to the staff at Horse Rangers: We can’t thank you enough for offering us these fantastic opportunities. For many of our young carers the chance to go out on these beautiful horses is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one that they will never forget. We hope that our relationship continues to grow. Thanks for all your support!
