AS THE YMCA CELEBRATE 140 YEARS OF INSPIRING WORK, WE ARE CELEBRATING THEM!

Over the last few months, we have been building up a fantastic partnership with the YMCA. In the summer, 10 of our young carers were invited along on a brilliant 4 day residential trip in Wales where they took part in a number of activities designed to improve their confidence, help them to work as a team and build trust between the group and leaders.

We also go along to the YMCA Hawker Centre to access the gym as part of our Wednesday youth group. The young people have the opportunity to use the gym equipment under the supervision of gym staff. This is a fantastic way for the group to work towards improving their physical health through exercise.

Most recently, the brilliant Myke from the YMCA arranged a private party for young carers and their families at the Pod! Everyone had so much fun making the most of the soft-play indoor playground and munching on the impressive spread of party food laid on by the YMCA staff.

We’d like to say a HUGE thank you to the YMCA for your continuing support. We’re looking forward to building on our relationship in the near future!
